Welcome to the Guide Bridge Light Railway Project, here we will keep you up to date progress with the project as it happens.

There are three options we are currently looking at, our current preferred option is option A which we will pursue accordingly with the governing bodies & Key Players to assist with this project:

Option A, a standard gauge line running from the rear of platform 1 at Guide Bridge Station running parallel with the current Glossop line utilising redundant track bed up as far as Hyde North Junction giving approximately 1 mile of track.

Option B, a narrow gauge railway running from under the road bridge on platform 1 at Guide Bridge Station following the Stockport branch  up to where the single main line becomes double track, giving approximately 460m of running line.

Option C, a narrow gauge railway starting from behind St Stephens church and utilising the old OA&GB track bed as far as the current Ashton Moss line giving approximately 1/4 mile of running line.
