The WRHG® has been created to look at preservation opportunities of the Woodhead Railway Route that ran between the cities of Manchester & Sheffield, we are also exploring the feasibility of reopening Dinting Railway Centre Glossop, working with local Council & Community Groups. The WRHG® are currently in the process of negotiating to have the use of a vacant building which would be developed into a Woodhead Railway Heritage Centre at Guide Bridge Station working with Network Rail, Northern Railway & ACoRP. Is the Group looking to reopen the woodhead railway?
The WRHG will be looking at the feasibility of a Heritage Railway Line between Hadfield Station & the Woodhead Tunnel, the Feasibility Study will look to see if the Heritage Line can be sustainable relying on tourism using the Railway.

Will there be working parties to carry out any work?
Yes, the Group will be looking to having Working Parties in due course to carry out any work that may be required.
Will there be membership for the Group?
Yes, there will be membership with a Fee for Joining, to which money raised will help towards any expenditure required for the Group.
Will the Group be working with Large Corporations / Companies to help with the Preservation projects?
Yes, the Group will be liaising with Key Players who may be able to offer support in any way with our Projects.
Will dinting railway centre reopen?
The WRHG are currently working with the owners of the site who have confirmed that they are open to suggestions from the WRHG as how best to develop the site. We are currently holding various meetings with key players to enable to progress with this project and also comes down to available funding from the National Lottery & Heritage Railway Grant Funding Schemes.
